From Elite rider Colleen Gulick's perspective on the day...
The day began early with a 5 am arrival in Central Park for a 5:45 am start time. Even though the race is over a 2 hour drive from home I always love racing the Central Park races; they always draw a large, talented field of women with a great payout. The Mengoni Grand Prix was 36 miles around the 6 mile central park loop. The field was comprised of 52 women, which was amazing. Plus, there were premes on every lap but the finish, adding extra incentive for the sprinters and extra counter attacks for the enduro riders. Cristina and I took on a talented field of New York’s finest and came away successful. I was able to earn 2 of the 5 premes along with the race win! We happily departed Central Park (at a still early 9am) after a quick team photo and a position of EPS/CSS p/b Shebell & Shebell atop the podium!
A special thank you to our sponsors, who continue to provide us the means and opportunity to take part in such great races. We represent EPS/CSS p/b Shebell & Shebell with pride every race and are honored to earn our sponsors a spot atop the podium!
