On Sunday, September 7, we pulled together for a true team effort in the 4th Annual NJ Gran Fondo.
To give some background, a Fondo is a recreational ride where participants are timed on several climbs (usually 2+ miles long) over the course. Results and rankings are based on the cumulative time on the climbs.
Team Riptide entered the QOM competition on the medio route and effectively strategized an approach that allowed us to work together and dig deep in conquering the timed climbs. Our approach paid off – with the team landing in first place by a margin of almost 30 minutes! This year’s NJ Fondo drew 2,000 participants, with close to 800 in the medio competition.
It proved to be a great day of fun and bonding along a scenic, yet challenging, route, while still providing a platform for a little competition.
