Race: Dana Point Grand Prix of Cycling
Location: Dana Point, CA
Rider(s): Coleen Gulick
After returning from Colorado on Monday I had a few days back to training then Dana Point Grand Prix, an NCC criterium right next to the beach. The race was a women's pro/1/2 and was 60 minutes around a 6 corner course downtown. There was a full field of 50 women to make a great race. With a bunch of turns and an uphill finish the course was challenging to say the least. The race was full of accelerations and all around fast. When it came down to the final uphill sprint I was able to earn 12th... not too bad after two weeks at a sprint camp then getting back into the crit scene. : ) Thank you to our sponsors for allowing me to contend such a great race with a huge downtown crowd! My next race will be back on the track Friday May 8th with a race report to follow. The following weekend I will begin my drive back to Pennsylvania for the summer of racing.
Results: Colleen Gulick 12th place
