Last night I took on the longest and hilliest TT in the Newmarket Cycling and Tri Club weekly time trial series I am participating in. This 21 mile course offered a bit of everything...steep hills, downhills, gradual but long hills, flats, villages, motorways, etc! It was a gorgeous course and I can't wait to back and ride it with my head up and not oxygen deprived so I can truly take in the beauty surrounding the course. I would normally do a hilly course like this on my road bike but am determined to become a better climber especially on my TT bike so I bit the bullet and did it on my TT bike. I felt very good about this ride as I had PR times on the toughest uphill segments, was able to stay in my extensions on some very rough roads during descents and ended up averaging .7mph faster than I my goal! Overall it was a great learning day on my TT bike.
