Brielle Cyclery was filled with eager participants to learn how to layer properly and how get through the winter months training. We had a fabulous night demonstrating the different indoor options to training, how to use zwift, and more. It was a fun night seeing new and returning faces to the event.
After our May rides I received a lot of messages to add another ride each month. I made it happen and we have added two rides a month for all levels(A-D). Its been great meeting so many amazing women and building our cycling community.
We even work together to change a flat. Sheila has been a great help with leading our rides.
You have to start somewhere. The amazing ladies above just finished a 32 mile route with our ride Leader Donna.
We are having fun and each rider is learning something new each time we meet. Hope to see you soon at our next ride.
Thank you to my amazing husband for always being there to lead a group, help out when needed. Thank you to my leaders for being there to take a group as we continue to grow.
Spring is here! Well sorta! Still a bit chilly in the morning this past weekend. Regardless we are finally back out on the road, doing what we love. Sunday, April 2nd was the first of my monthly C/D No Drop Rides. 25 amazing and talented women showed up to ride and challenge themselves.
The morning began with a quick safety chat, ride expectation and roll call to be sure I had everyone's waiver signed before rolling out. Once all questions were answered and everyone had their bike ready to go we took off for a fun day on the bike!!
We accomplished a lot for our first ride. 27 miles and lots of laughs and smiles had by all! The ride would not have been successful without the help from my husband Jeff and friends Toni, Sheila, and Doreen. Thank you!
Thank you to all the ladies who came out and stepped outside their comfort zone, it was a great group. You all did amazing, I can't wait for the next ride.
Women's guide to bike racing!
On Saturday March 11th, 2017 19 amazing and talented women gathered around at Brielle Cyclery for my Women's Guide to Bike Racing. I was lucky to have my teammate and friend Deborah Leedale-Brown along side me to present all they needed to know about taking the first step to that first race. All the women were eager to learn about the different disciplines and races in the Tri-State area. 3.5 hours of answering questions and reviewing the different race series and women's categories in the area. A very successful morning for my Trek Women's Advocate event.
Mid-way through our presentation we took a little break for snacks and to announce our give-away gifts. Thank you to Brielle Cyclery we had 2 women who left with awesome cycling caps and a grand prize worth $400 for a Precision Fit with Jarrad from Asbury Park Cyclery. Jarrad took a few minutes to educate all the women about the Fit and the benefits of having the right fit for your bike. We were all impressed with the saddle pressure and what the fit has to offer.
The event was a huge success and I think we may see some new faces at some of the local races. Our Tri -State area has so much to offer in so many disciplines that the women had no idea about it. Today they left with all the knowledge they needed, to help pick their event of choice.
If you missed my event and would like information please don't hesitate to contact me.
Thank you and look forward to more events to come.
